Kamille McKinney Body Found In Landfill

Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney was last seen Saturday October 12, 2019 around 8:30 p.m. at a birthday party in the Tom Brown Village public housing community near the Avondale area.

Witnesses told police a woman in a dark SUV drove up, put the child in the vehicle and left. The SUV may be a Toyota 4Runner with a brown bumper and tinted windows.

Charges have been filed against two persons of interest in the investigation into the kidnapping of 3-year-old Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney, Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith announced late Tuesday afternoon.

Patrick Stallworth, 39, is facing several child porn charges. Derick Brown, 29, is being held in jail for probation revocation stemming from a 2018 case.

The two were taken into custody Sunday night in Center Point. An SUV sought by police was also recovered.

On the morning of October 16th 2019 the police received a tip that the child had been spotted in an apartment complex 10 miles from where she was abducted. The police and swat team spent most the morning searching these apartments hoping to find little Kamille. The crowd erupted when someone walked out holding what looked like a small child. I believe the family had even been notified she was found.

Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith on Tuesday asked for the public’s help in the search for 3-year-old Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney.

Smith and Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr announced two rewards for information in the case. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is offering $5,000 and a private citizen is offering $1,000. By the end of the week more donations came in and everyone on social media was trying to spread the word.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately. Information may be left anonymously.

Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith announced at a news conference Tuesday night (October 22nd 2019) that Kamille’s remains were discovered in a trash bin taken to a landfill in Birmingham.

Kamille's family pleaded for her safe return as police offered a $28,000 reward for information regarding her whereabouts

Smith said police are obtaining murder warrants against two people previously identified as persons of interest in the case, 39-year-old Patrick Devone Stallworth and his 29-year-old girlfriend, Derick Irisha Brown.

Investigators said they suspected Stallworth and Brown within 24 hours of when Kamille, who was known to relatives as ‘Cupcake’, was abducted from a birthday party on October 12.

No information regarding the motive has been released and lawyers for both suspects have insisted that they had nothing to do with the abduction.

Both suspects were arrested last week on unrelated charges and named persons of interests in Kamille’s disappearance.

Stallworth was charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography after investigators found multiple photos on his phone – none of which featured Kamille.

He was released on $500,000 bond and taken back into custody on Tuesday night.

Brown was charged with violating probation conditions from a previous kidnapping case involving her own children. She was held without bond.

On Friday police released surveillance footage from the night of Kamille’s abduction, which showed her playing with another child outside the Tom Brown public housing projects when two men approached.

Police said the first man to enter the frame, who walked by the children without engaging with them, was a possible witness and urged him to come forward with any relevant information. I just hope they do have the right people, and justice gets served for that poor little girl. Rest in peace cupcake.
