3 children dead, 2 injured in stabbing at Texas home during CPS visit

A mother was arrested in Italy, Texas, after she allegedly stabbed three of her children to death and and injured two more of her children Friday.

The sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at around 4 p.m. local time on South Harris Street in Italy, located about 40 miles south of Dallas.

Upon arrival, multiple victims were found, including three children that were dead and two others critically wounded who were taken to area hospitals. All of the victims were children.

Shamaiya Deyonshana Hall, 25, confirmed to be the children’s mother was arrested and charged with three counts of capital murder in connection with the incident, the sheriff’s office said Saturday. She is being held on a $6 million bond.

The murders occurred during a home visit by Texas Child Protective Services, during which the caseworker decided to remove the children from the home, according to the sheriff’s office. The caseworker called 911 and responding deputies discovered the victims.

A 6-year-old boy and 5-year-old twins — a boy and girl — were found dead, while a 4-year-old boy and 13-month-old girl were “seriously wounded.

A relative of the victims, confirmed that the children attended the elementary school across the street from their home.

The children had been previously placed by CPS under the guardianship of another relative. Their mother was not supposed to be around them unsupervised, I’m not sure why she was left with them at all.

It’s not clear why Hall was at the home Friday and if that played into the caseworker’s decision to remove the children.

Court records show this is not Hall’s first arrest.

In 2017, she was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for threatening a man with a knife. In 2020, she pled guilty to assault causing bodily injury after she bit someone.

Her twin sister, Troyshaye Hall, was charged with murder in 2021 for allegedly stabbing her own seven-year-old daughter to death in South Dallas.  According to court documents, she was found incompetent to stand trial and was sent to an in-patient mental health facility. This family obviously has a track record of mental Health issues, those babies didn’t deserve this at all.
