Missing woman’s burned body found in Birmingham Al.

A woman’s burned body was found on Sellers Road in Birmingham just after 9 p.m. Thursday night.

Police responded around 9 p.m. Thursday to a report of a burned body in the 200 block of Sellers Road. Firemen and First responders also arrived on scene and and pronounced the woman dead.

Birmingham Fire Rescue personnel extinguished the flames and discovered that Fowler had visible signs of trauma and they discovered she had been shot.

After an autopsy, the Jefferson County Coroner identified the woman as 31-year-old Jermiera Ivory Fowler. Also Confirming she died from being shot before caught on fire.

Fowler was originally reported missing earlier Thursday night, after reportedly going to make a Facebook Marketplace purchase.

According to a release, police couldn’t confirm that her death stemmed from the Facebook meet up.

She was last seen Wednesday on 41st Street North, which is located in the area of Tom Brown Village housing community.

Police confirm Fowler’s car was recovered in the city but would not say where. Her car was not located in the area of where her burned body was discovered.
