Susan & Evan Osborne Still Missing

Flyers with the words “still missing” have been posted around Elmore County Alabama by family members and friends of a missing Wetumpka woman and her son.

Susan Osborne, 43, and her 14-year-old son Evan Chartrand have been missing for well over 2 years now.

Osborne and her son were reported missing last July, 2017 but the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office believes the mother and son had been missing for months before the report was filed and that they do not believe this is a missing persons case.

Susan Osborne, 42, and her 15 year old son, Evan Eric Chartrand, were last heard from on May 29, 2017. Since then there has been no contact and friends and family are worried. Susan was married to a man named Jerry Osborne, an Air Force veteran They had been experiencing some difficulties in their relationship but Susan told others that they were working on things and that she loved her husband. Linda Anklam, Susan’s mother, reported them missing on July 29, two months after they likely went missing. The delay was mostly out of respect for Susie’s privacy. But with unanswered calls and letters mounting, family and friends could no longer stay silent. Police visited the home that Susan and Jerry shared in order to get some answers and the door was answered by Jerry who was obviously in the process of cleaning the residence. But he hadn’t just cleaned the five year old home, he had completely remodeled it over the prior two months.

Susan’s two beloved dogs, who were also missing, were found later at an animal shelter on June 12. Both her and Evan’s belongings are missing from the home, but Susan left her daughter, (I’ve been asked by the family not to include her name), 10 year old, behind, and her family doesn’t believe she would have voluntarily abandon her daughter. When the police went to the house to investigate the disappearances, Jerry told them that on May 29, Susan had decided to leave him and a man had picked her up. The next day, he said, the man returned to the house and removed furniture and other belongings. Susan’s car was left behind, however.

Before the Disappearance

Shortly before she and Evan disappeared, Susan discovered Jerry had previously worked as a gay escort before their marriage, advertising his services online. She recognized him in the ad photos by the tattoos. She apparently spoke about this to a friend over email which he later found and he asked her not to speak of it. He became very possessive of her phone in particular after this I’m guessing he thought she’d tell everyone and ruin his reputation. She had thought Jerry was still escorting and spoke about leaving him, but later said she and Jerry had worked things out and she still loved him.

Susan’s parents had only met Jerry a handful of times. Jerry was the first person Susan dated after divorcing Evan’s father.

After the disappearance of his wife and stepson, Jerry remodeled the home; he replaced the walls and replaced the hardwood flooring with carpet. Despite this, during a further investigation, authorities found approximately twenty possible bloodstains in their home, which were sent away for DNA testing. Jerry claimed he had to repaint because Susan spray-painted vulgar phrases on the walls before she left.

Neighbors reported that in the summer of 2017, Jerry burned multiple items of furniture on his property. The house was equipped with an elaborate security system with cameras at every door, but by the time the police began investigating, all the footage from the time of Susan and Evan’s disappearance was gone because Jerry had bought a replacement system on June 1.

Since her disappearance, there has been no activity on Susan’s credit cards, phone, or social media accounts.

Now with all that being said, it sure seems like the husband is the guilty one. With no bodies being found and also how he tainted almost all or any evidence he’s probably thinking he’s gotten away with it. I say they dig under that house!!! Why even do all that remodeling? the house wasn’t even very old, lots of shit just doesn’t add up here! Susan surely would’ve at least mentioned to her mother she was leaving. She did find his dirty secret so maybe she knew too much and her son was just in the way. As of now it’s still unsolved..

If you have any information about this disappearance, please contact the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office via their Secret Witness Hotline at 334-567-5227. The facebook page is titled, Justice for Susie and Evan.

The family and friends held a vigil after they were gone for a year, hoping to shed some light on the case. Now we are on year two, this case should come to justice share it!!
